I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
